Hello,

Each Sunday everyone who attends 5 Point Church is challenged to know Christ for the first time in their life, or grow deeper in their relationship with Christ. The worst thing that we can do as believers and as a church is become content and complacent. Because of this, we want to prepare 5 Point for the future impact that we can make today and generations to follow. It revolves around the legacy that you want to leave; do you want to impact just you and your family, or do you want to grow God's Kingdom by making an impact at 5 Point Church?

God has given 5 Point Church a clear vision of how we can continue to impact a hurting world, share the love of Jesus through outreach and missions, and invest in our next generation of leaders.  In addition, we need to improve our operational structure to help meet the need. These ministry lanes along with the information that we are providing to the church through our website, 5point.tv/generosity and other sources of information allows everyone to understand how they can play a part in making these dreams become a reality. Over the next ten years, we have over 18 million dollars of plans to grow the Kingdom through 5 Point Church. The vision is clear, but the pace at which we can accomplish this relies upon you.  The question and my challenge for you: do you want to build your kingdom or God's Kingdom? Let's do this 5 Point!

God Bless,
Pastor Dean Herman

Legacy Impact Ministry
“Building the church for the future”

Welcome to the 5 Point Church Legacy Impact Ministry! This booklet explains how 5 Point Church strategically plans to impact our community through four ministry lanes. The purpose of this ministry is to prepare 5 Point Church for future generations to come and continue to build God’s kingdom. We are an extremely generous church, and our focus is to never let that stop but only expand our influence in the community for Christ. We look forward to educating and inspiring you to realize how you can make an impact through the different opportunities laid out through our four ministry lanes.

The impact of our giving is felt throughout the Upstate. Since 2019, 5 Point has given over 1.5 million dollars back to our community and surrounding areas to help support local, regional and international ministries. Over the years we have been able to bless many ministries but we have made a huge impact on our local Salvation Army and  several chapters of Fellowship for Christian Athletes (FCA) spanning three different counties. The Salvation Army and 5 Point teamed up the last five years to provide Christmas for underprivileged families in Pickens County. 5 Point provides our facility to the Salvation Army where they sort and give away Christmas to over 150 families every year. In addition to that, we financially partner with the Salvation Army on many opportunities throughout the year.

FCA has been one of our strongest outreach partners for over a decade. We support several chapters and have seen hundreds of student athletes come to know Christ because of the ministry of FCA and our financial involvement. Without our help, FCA would not be able to fulfill its mission to serve in every school in Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens county school districts. We help provide breakfast, materials, Bibles, and FCA camp experiences for students in Pickens County and surrounding areas.

5 Point Church’s foundation is defined by the active involvement in our community and beyond through Outreach. Over the years, 5 Point has gone above and beyond a regular tithe as a church to help other ministries, organizations, and individuals. The impact of millions of dollars helping over 100 ministries, teams, and organizations weaves our impact to far reaching areas that we would never be able to reach and teach if not for the gifts of all of us that take part in tithing to 5 Point Church. We have the opportunity to support local ministries such as United Christian Ministries, Samaritan’s Health Clinic, our local schools, JC Cares, FCA, the Salvation Army and many more. The future of this giving lane depends on us furthering our expansion of helping, assisting, and influencing so many for the cause of Christ.

In the next five to ten years, 5 Point wants to expand our impact to over 200 organizations and ministries to help support Kingdom growth, while also helping our Storehouse grow its impact in the Pickens County community. The goal for the Storehouse is to become a self-sustaining ministry that will be under the umbrella of 5 Point Church, but will be able to reach into new outreach areas. Your gifts to this ministry lane will help prepare for the future growth of not only our outreach, but also our impact for years to come in our very own community.

Cost: $800,000 /per year

The growth of our church will push our giving to the community even more because it allows us to know more of the needs. We will strategically focus on ministry impact with our impoverished community and our schools. We see the investment in the next generation as most important because they are the future leaders to grow God’s kingdom. The more impact we can make in helping demonstrate the love of Jesus through our outreach, the greater influence 5 Point will have in our city, county, state, and nation.

While 5 Point focuses heavily on giving within our local community, we also have a strong focus on regional and international missions. We have numerous mission opportunities from disaster relief, Chestnut Mountain Ranch Boys Home, and our very own 5 Point Tabora Church in Tanzania, Africa along with seven other church plants throughout Tanzania.

5-10 Year plan

Church mission opportunities in Guatemala and the Dominican Republic will send short term missions teams to these two areas. Our goal would be to have local church ministriesestablished in each country through which we can send support. It is not necessary to establish a church in each place, but we would like to work alongside a local indigenous church, or group of churches, to help it impact their community. Some examples would be orphanage work, schools, and local food pantries. For example, an initial investment of approximately $50,000 in each area would help set up a structure, establish a church or community center, and then provide a startup income stream through a tea farm or another indigenous plant to provide for the fledgling ministry. The future, at home, will include growing a disaster relief team that is ready and available with the infrastructure in place to have a trailer and supplies ready to go with the rise of natural disasters in the southeast and along the east coast. We will also focus on helping the already established missions in West Virginia and Tanzania that we currently support.

Cost: $500,000 /next 5 years

This will consist of sending teams each year and establishing an infrastructure for ministry work to provide for each community. The end goal is to have an indigenous team to maintain the day to day work supporting the surrounding communities through water projects, schools, and, most importantly, church and leading people to Jesus.

God has blessed 5 Point with an amazing campus, but we have so much more work to do. The purchase of the entire shopping center has brought new building opportunities. Once all of the third party businesses that currently are in the center move out, we will have ample opportunity for growth. We have already started this process with the first phase of the Storehouse, which houses our food program, the Market, and will eventually house other ministries aimed at helping the impoverished get back on their feet. 5 Point finished about 15,000 of the available 50,000 square feet at the Storehouse. We also relocated our staff office to two adjacent retail spaces in the middle of the complex. The cost for both of these projects combined was 1.5 million dollars. We will have around 80,000 square feet of space to upfit when those spaces open up and we have a gameplan.

5-10 year plan

Our prayer is that by this time, all current businesses will be relocated into other spaces in our community. We would like to have the Storehouse completed with its community center area and additional spaces for other ministries by 2027. The estimated cost for completing the additional 35,000 square feet will be around 4-5 million. In addition to the Storehouse, the current stores directly beside 5 Point will be opened up through our KidPoint hallway to attach to our current campus as the 5 Point Youth facility. It will potentially house a gymnasium and additional rooms for 5 Point Youth and KidPoint to utilize throughout the week. The total cost for this upfit will be approximately six million. As we continue to grow and find unique uses for the remaining retail space, we understand that it will take small renovations as well. Even small renovations have elevated costs. Renovating the rest of the shopping center (approximately 20,000 sq ft) for more classroom and community usage which would total between 1.5 million to 2 million. Once completed, the entire campus would house around 200,000 sq. feet of ministry space for our church and community to utilize.

Cost: $14,500,000

$1.5 million has been accomplished with the new additions of The Storehouse and the moving of the 5 Point Offices.

Our KidPoint and 5 Point Youth are special because they are the future of our church and community. We have always made these two age groups a huge priority at 5 Point and we expect to do that and more in the future. Our KidPoint ministry houses over 500 children every Sunday and our Youth group hosts over 200 every Wednesday night. It is amazing to see so many young people coming to our campus to worship Jesus. It is so important that we continue to invest in our Next Gen. Last year, we took up a Christmas offering that allowed our Youth Ministry to reach many students. They grew from an average of 120 youth to well over 200 in the 2022 calendar year! That is amazing!

5-10 year plan

In addition to the capital improvements listed above for our 5 Point Youth, we have a very aggressive five year plan for our Next Gen students. We have such a strong and thriving ministry already, but we are just scratching the surface of the impact that we can have. We would love to be able to fund the vision of a special needs ministry expansion called Base Camp to fully support special needs families that would like to attend church, but simply cannot find a church that can meet those needs. Another area that we see a huge need in the community is after school tutoring and support for our middle school and high school youth. Tutoring costs in our area average $75 per hour. Instead of heading home to an empty house, we would love to provide not only tutoring, but mentoring services to help lead our youth towards Jesus as we support academically and spiritually. Both ministries would involve lots of volunteer hours, but also depend on an infrastructure through our 5 Point Youth facility to help make the visions become a reality. To make both of these possible over the next 5 years we would need 1,500,000.

Cost: $1,500,000 /next 5 years

These numbers look pretty insurmountable when viewed through our worldly lenses, but with God everything is possible!

Over the next five to ten years, we have approximately $18,000,000 of vision to fund at 5 Point Church. We are not a church to sit complacent and be happy with what has been accomplished through our obedience to God. We are crazy enough to think that God has called us to an even greater impact and all of these initiatives are geared towards one vision- to reach and teach for Jesus!

The question is not whether we are going to accomplish these audacious goals, instead, you just need to ask yourself if you want to be a part of something so special? You have an opportunity to learn how to prepare for your future including not only your family, but also your church.

Because there is such a need over the next five to ten years, we want to empower you to know how you can help 5 Point Church grow God’s Kingdom for decades to come. We are launching a new initiative called our Legacy Impact Ministry. Pastor Lawson will be heading up this new ministry with the help of Tim Deatrick and his team at Mortarstone. Throughout the year, Pastor Lawson will have informational meetings to help educate the church on our ministry lanes and how 5 Point is moving towards achieving the goals set forth. As we grow and impact, we can do this together through our Legacy Impact Ministry.
